Omahanui Special Care Unit is a special place for very special people.
We provide both residential rehabilitative care and long term "Home for Life" care for ACC funded clients, and long term care for MOH funded clients in New Plymouth. We are extremely proud of our dedicated and experienced team and an ideology that focuses on taking every opportunity to improve function and well being. We aim to promote quality of life and regaining independence where possible. Omahanui is committed to providing client focused care and therapies that are characterised by respect, positivity and encouragement. Living at Omahanui Special Care Unit – Short Term or Home for Life A number of our clients are admitted to Omahanui Special Care Unit for intensive rehabilitation therapies and care with the goal to return home. Following a severe brain injury or accident affecting physical ability however, some clients require a more permanent living arrangement. Rest Homes and other elder care facilities are often not age appropriate or often not equipped to manage the complex rehabilitation and medical needs of people who have suffered a brain injury.
